Amphitheater Debuts New Name

May 3, 2021
Bonner Springs, KS – One of Northeast Kansas' favorite music venues is getting a new name as it prepares to welcome guests for the 2021 season. Azura Credit Union is the new naming rights sponsor for the former Providence Medical Center Amphitheater. The venue is now known as Azura Amphitheater at 633 N. 130th Street in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Transitions to the new name began early on May 3 with the debut of AzuraAmp.com and additional changes will continue through the coming months. New West Presentations, Inc. will continue to be the managing organization of the amphitheater and assures the same excellent service and memorable events.

"We are thrilled to be the naming sponsor of this iconic Kansas outdoor music venue. The Azura Amphitheater partnership provides a multitude of opportunities that include unique benefits for Azura accountholders, exciting potential for Azura events, future growth and substantial economic benefits for the community. This partnership allows Azura Credit Union to reinforce our commitment to the Northeast Kansas community and support an entertainment venue we are all excited to see open again," said Allyson Shove-Chard VP of Marketing at Azura Credit Union.

"We are proud to have Azura Credit Union as naming rights partner for the amphitheater. Azura Amphitheater is very appropriate for us since Azura means 'blue sky'. Azura and their staff have been wonderful to work with and we are excited to have a long and creative partnership with them for years to come. I'm also thankful to our former naming rights partner, Providence Medical Center, and the great partnership we shared with them. Providence is a community-minded hospital that is a great asset to the amphitheater and to Wyandotte County. We are looking forward to seeing you all this summer at Azura Amphitheater, "said Chris Fritz, President of New West Presentations.

Azura Credit Union is the third largest credit union in the State of Kansas with roots going back to 1939. With locations in Topeka, Lenexa and Fort Riley, Azura currently serves over 56,000 members and has over $680 million in assets. Azura's motto, Above and Beyond Banking, symbolizes commitment to member service, outstanding products, strong community ties and innovative services to provide the experience and service you need and deserve.

Azura Amphitheater first opened in 1984 welcoming guests and entertainers under the name of 'Sandstone'. The Amphitheater has grown in size and amenities over the years and now can host up to 18,000 visitors at events. Azura Amphitheater is located near a major tourism and entertainment district in Kansas City, Kansas, which includes Kansas Speedway, Legends Shopping Center and Children's Mercy Park along with numerous hotels and restaurants. The amphitheater is located near I-435 and I-70 in Wyandotte County.
